All About The Holy Spirit Empty
PostSubject: All About The Holy Spirit   All About The Holy Spirit Icon_minitimeMon Oct 16, 2006 12:31 am

We had a sort of small discussion at around 7am this sunday, 15th of October. It's all about the holy spirit.

My housemate is currently spending his QT at Acts. There, he came to an analysis that not all possess the Holy Spirit.

According to our former BS Leaders, The holy spirit is already in us when we accepted Christ as our Saviour. But a certain apostle (I forget his name) when he talked to the Corinthians that they do receive Christ as their Savior, but the Holy spirit wasn't with them. This apostle prayed for the Corinthians and the Holy Spirit came upon them.

This led us to a certain question. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT WITH US? AND THAT WE SHOULD ASKED FOR A PERSON WHO IS FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT TO PRAY FOR US TO RECEIVE IT?

We always pray to the Father to fill us with the Holy Spirit, and when we ask for prayers, we sometimes not get an answer because we are not filled with the Holy Spirit or possible that the Holy Spirit is not with us.

I do pray that you would able to help us to end this discussion at our apartment.

IF WE CAN RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT IF SOMEONE FILLED WILL PRAY FOR US IS TRUE, THEN PRAYING FOR A DEAD PERSON WHO SUPPOSEDLY WILL GO TO HELL(TAHT IS THE ONE WHO DON'T RECEIVE JESUS AS PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR) WILL GO TO HEAVEN IF WE PRAY FOR THEM....

Bros, ito ang opinion ko:

When we received Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit dwells in us -- indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Thus, we have the Holy Spirit when we received Jesus in our hearts. Eph. 1:13-14 says that the Holy Spirit seals us that we are God's possession.

Ephesians 1:13-14
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory."

However, even though we have the Holy Spirit, we may not be filled by Him. Ephesians 5:18 says:

"Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit."

Thus, we are grieving the Holy Spirit because we are not obeying Him. Ephesians 4:30 says:

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."

Now, regarding prayer for one to be filled by the Spirit, that would be great! We have to pray for the Holy Spirit to fill us so that we may do His will.

In the Old Testament, people were filled by the Holy Spirit in different manners, and one of which is the laying on of hands. However, there were also instances that laying on of hands was not the evident manner to be filled by the Holy Spirit. I forgot the references.

Find the booklet of Dr. Lavender (forgot his first name!). The book's title was something like... forgot also eh... basta may Holy Spirit yung title.

(Sana may Pastor tayo dito para icheck yung opinions ko.)
