5-Minute Icebreakers

Could anyone please post any game that is good for 5-10 people, long enough that the players might get used to each others presence, but short enough that it won't exceed 5 minutes?


It would be a great help, if you could share it with us. Please do include the mechanics of the game in your post. Thanks!

The name of the game is Incremental Laughter
but if you find that a mouthful, you can call it Dagdag tawa.

The game is quite simple. All you have to do is LAUGH.
The group is arranged in a circle. For a group consiting 5-10 persons, it is better to do it in 3 cycles.
It goes like this:

1. The first person laughs a "ha"
2. The second person a "ha"
3. The subsequent persons add a single "ha", such that every person in the group has added a "ha"
4. Repeat process ad libitum, ad absurdum, ad nauseaum


This breaks the ice by utilizing the laughter. Believe me it really works. however, it works better on a larger group.

The Forbidden Words:

1.) Assign words that should not be spoken (i.e. YES, NO, OO, HINDI).

2.) For 10-minutes the group must engage in a casual conversation but not saying the forbidden words.

3.) If someone says a forbidden word he earns a point.

4.) By the end of the 10-min time limit, the person who has the least point wins the game.

1,2,3 Pass

It is really a simple card game, each person has 4 random cards, and the objective is to complete a face of four kinds (example 4 KIngs) first. The one who completes first places his hand at the group's center, while the rest of the players follow suit. The last person who gets to place his hand on the middle of the group well loses.

Pwedeng ganito. Tell the person at your right something that you think he still doesn't know.

Mas ok to pag mejo deep na relationship ng mga cellmates...

the 7 up game.. pero dapat mabilis

You may consider these ice breakers pero I think these will exceed five minutes:

1. Shagidy shapopo (something like that) --- Form a circle or a straight line (whatever suites you) and choose a leader who will perform an action. Then kantahin lang ang "shagidy shagidy shapopo" ng paulit-ulit. Habang kinakanta ito, the leader should perform an action na tutularin ng person on his/her right after singing this line "shagidy shagidy shapopo."

Then the chant goes on. The leader will do another act (second act) while the person on his right should be doing the first act done by the leader. The third person should be doing the first action, as the leader performs his/her third action. Now, the second person should be doing the second action.

Nakakalito yata! Hahaha... Basta ganyan yan.

Una you have to form two groups with equal number per group..
Then you brief each group na maggawa sila ng strategy na mapasa nila ung number na gusto mong ipasa sa huling member ng group without any words of mouth na lalabas.. ang kailangan lang e luminya sila ng nakatalikod sa isa't isa at mapasa nila ang number through symbol or touching of part ng back ng person na sinusundan nila...The facilatator can also make his own strategy para mapasa ung number...
Halimbawa
1. One hundred ay mapapasa sa pamamagitan ng pagtapik sa right na balikat ng sinusundang tao.
2. 50 ay mapapasa sa pamamagitan ng pagtapik sa kaliwang balikat ng person na sinusundan niya
3. 10 ay mapapasa niya sa paghawak niya sa right ear
4. 5 ay mapapasa niya sa paghawak sa left ear
5. 1 ay mapapasa niya sa pagtapik sa ulo niya.

so pag nagpass ka ng 125 dapat e isang tapik ang gawin niya sa right na balikat, dalawang hawak sa right ear ang isang hawak sa left ear...
ganun lang so kung sino mang unang makatama sa number e maidagdag sa points nila.. dapat ibubulong lang sa facilatator ang numero para may pagkakataon ang kabilang team na makatama...
